ARTIST STATEMENT:

The act of creation powered our departure from the animal kingdom towards the attitude of myth, belief and imagination, the instance the Stadel Lion Man was carved 30,000 years ago had initiated the potential of such ideologies in human minds. The Red Lion is a message of reform and rebirth of the myths and beliefs that currently surround the contemporary world as it enters into a new realm of the technological and robotic totalitarian utopia or dystopia just as the human body with its blood and bones becomes more primal upon our advancement into this world. The written text on the building is The Red Lion in a phonetic translation and this becomes a visual stimulus of an extinct language paradoxically still in use in English dictionaries. It shows the nature of our  language as the reflection of the world in constant flux and change.
